Build Better Dementia Care—On Your Facility’s Schedule
A complete six-module staff-training system your facility can deliver using its own designated trainer—without requiring an outside facilitator.
Dementia Care Training Should Change What Happens at the Bedside
Caring for residents living with dementia requires more than completing an annual in-service. Staff need practical skills they can use during everyday interactions—especially when a resident is confused, frightened, resistant to care, or unable to express an unmet need.
The LifeHealthNow Brain-Resilient Dementia Care Program gives your designated trainer a structured six-module system for building those skills across your care team. Your facility controls the schedule, delivers the training internally, and reinforces approaches that support dignity, safety, communication, and person-centered care.
Practical Bedside Skills
Give staff usable approaches for communication, responsive behaviors, unmet needs, personal care, and emotionally difficult interactions.
Facility-Controlled Scheduling
Deliver all six modules using your own designated trainer, on a schedule that works for your facility and staff.
Complete Training System
Receive facilitator guides, presentations, participant workbooks, assessments, certificates, and implementation tools in one ready-to-deliver program.
What Your Team Will Learn
Module 1: Understanding Dementia and Cognitive Decline
Build a practical foundation for recognizing patterns of cognitive and functional change—and distinguishing dementia from normal aging.
Module 2: Supporting Brain Health in Daily Care
Connect food and fluids, movement, sleep, sensory access, metabolic health, environment, and meaningful engagement to everyday care.
Module 3: Recognizing Delirium and Potentially Reversible Causes
Recognize sudden or fluctuating change, compare it with baseline, protect the person, and report promptly without diagnosing beyond one’s role.
Module 4: Communication and Dementia-Related Behaviors
Use calm, respectful communication to reduce avoidable distress. Recognize dementia-related behaviors as meaningful expressions of unmet needs, identify likely triggers, and respond safely within your role.
Module 5: Medication, Infection, Pain, Falls, and Environmental Risks
Recognize how medication effects, illness or infection, pain, falls, mobility changes, and environmental hazards can affect cognition and function. Use the Five-Risk Scan to observe, respond safely within your role, and report meaningful changes promptly.
Module 6: Person-Centered Care, Documentation, and Family Communication
Honor preferences and rights, respond to refusal, document objectively, partner with families appropriately, protect privacy, and escalate concerns.
